Valu King is a supermarket chain with stores in the U.S. states of Pennsylvania and Ohio. The chain is currently owned by Giant Eagle, which operates out of the Pittsburgh area.
In December 2008, Giant Eagle opened its first Valu King supermarket in Eastlake, Ohio. The Valu King name dates back to the 1980s, when Giant Eagle bought Youngstown wholesaler Tamarkin Co. and its Valu King stores were eventually converted to the Giant Eagle name. Today, Valu King operates stores in Eastlake, Ravenna, and Brooklyn in Ohio and Johnstown and Erie in Pennsylvania, with the most recent store opening in May 2012.
